  when i was a kid, i remember sitting in class, waiting for the playground breaks so i could show the other kids my dinosaur collections.

  i had real fossils, plastic t-rex's triceratops and diplodocuses.

  this must have been 1977, and i was 7 years old.

  hi, i'm new to these forums so i thought i would share some experiences of when i was a jw.. i was born in 1976 into a staunch jw family.

  my grandparents, parents, aunties, uncles, cousins etc etc were all jw's going back to the 1950's.

  when i was a child my parents, like a lot of jw parents, didn't let me have worldly friends.

  Those that would never miss a meeting or field service no matter what...

  did you know a few in your congregation that would never miss a meeting, no matter what.

  even if it was 20 below zero or 100 f or if they were sick, they would be there anyways.. these people irritated me, because they wanted to show how good they were.. did you know any like that?

  ya that was my family. cold, hot... no matter! dress appropriately. such BS. then when i was older i would hear expressions like, "are we fairweather christians?" shut the hell up... such stupid reasoning. and then they cancel the meeting for snow and the brothers and sisters go skiing...

  last week while travelling i stopped at a zany brainy store and saw that they had a blimp for sale.

  maybe you should have read the may 8, 2004 awake on "are toy blimps for christians?" you would never have gotten into that situation in the first place had you read and applied the counsel given from the faithful and discreet slave on something that is so clear from the bible. and after that encounter, i'm sure you'll agree with the governing body that toy blimps are NOT for right-hearted ones.

  of all the privileges only brothers may have, doing mics seemed to be one of the most tedious.

  it was definitely something you could graduate from... but why?

  when i was the sound guy, it was always so hard to get brothers to do the mics.

  oh yea when you're doing mics, you have to be like those brittish guards... excuse my ignorance for not knowing their official title... you cannot smirk or make any kind of sarcastic face, not matter how tempting
